As the 24hours of Daytona got underway this afternoon, it seemed like a good time to recapitulate the partnerships of the Grand-Am series in 2011.

Chevrolet confirmed this week that it will be back this season with increased partnership in DP, GT and GS divisions. Chevrolet will also offer the pace-cars at Elkhart Lake in June and Watkins Glen in August.

Two weeks ago, Porsche also confirmed its presence as official partner for the second year in a row. Porsche is the most successful manufacturer of the series history with nine titles.

The Grand-Am series also proposes live-timing to the fans not only on their personal computers, but also through mobile telephony in 2011.

MRN will pursue its partnership with the series as well this season, starting with the Rolex 24 today and tomorrow.

As for telediffusion of the races, Speed Channel confirmed eight races (schedule follows) also starting with special coverage of the famous Daytona 24 this week-end.
