The Sunoco Rolex 24 Challenge that brought Felipe Nasr to the grid of the 2012 Daytona 24 Hours will be back in 2012.

The challenge is a points system-based interseries competition, giving the opportunity to any drivers of the participating series a chance to win a ride in the iconic American event.

En 2011, Brazilian Felipe Nasr won both the British Formula 3 championship and the Sunoco Rolex 24 Challenge. It got him a drive with Michael Shank Racing in the DP category – which yielded a podium finish – at this year's Grand-Am curtain raiser event.

British F3 and British GT series will not be eligible in the the challenge for the 2012 race season, but the SPEED EuroSeries and Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship will be.
