Canadian actress Pamela Anderson has launched a new race team called Racealliance by Pamela Anderson.

The outfit is set to take part in the remainder of the FIA GT series and the 2014 season with a Ferrari 458 Italia driven by former F1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi and three-time world champion Niki Lauda's son Mathias.

Anderson ventured into motorsport once before, with Downforce 1 Racing, an Austrian-based team that was supposed to race in European Le Mans Series (ELMS). Unfortunately for the 46-year-old Canadian, the plans never got off the ground.

Former GT racer Markus Fux, who Auto123.com understands was involved in Downforce 1, will help run the new team as well.

Racealliance will have its headquarters in Germany, but could expand to America, as the team plans to race in NASCAR later on.

As team principal, Anderson is set to attend all race meetings of her team.

Outside the world of racing, the British Columbia-native is better known for her many sexy appearances on the screen, which include many movies unknown to motorsport fans, and her animal rights activism.
