Alongside his American Le Mans Series’ commitment with Highcroft Racing, David Brabham will compete in the 2011 GT1 World Championship in a Nissan GT-R.

The Australian driver will join Jamie Campbell-Walter in Sumo Power GT team’s first GT-R, while former F1 drivers, Brazilians Enrique Bernoldi and Ricardo Zonta will share the wheel of the second car.

"Therefore, I was delighted when the opportunity came up to join Sumo Power GT. I'm now really excited to be part of the team and the FIA GT1 World Championship,” Brabham said.

"The series has all the right ingredients and I like the format of the races. A reflection of its credibility is the number of top-level drivers that are taking part, which means there's a lot out there that could win the title - and of course, that includes the drivers in the two Nissan teams," he added.

Brabham, who will contest the ALMS 12 Hours of Sebring this weekend will then travel to Abu Dhabi for the opening round of the GT1 World Championship, March 20th and 21st.
