Weissach is producing yet another 911 variant to join the family ranks. Porsche has announced the addition of the 911 GT3 Cup S to the model lineup as a race-only car built to race in international championships run in accordance with FIA GT3 regulations.

The Cup S body is based on that of the GT3 RS, and features wide wheel arches to mount some serious rubber. The tires in front are 10.5 inches wide, and the rear ones measure in at one foot across.

Helping those contact patches adhere firmly to the tracks surface are some enhanced aerodynamic upgrades including a larger, taller rear spoiler and an adjustable front splitter.

Suspension components for the GT3 Cup S come from the GT3 RSR, a GT2 class racer that's got a knack for long-distance challenges. The new Cup S model has had its brakes upgraded as well, to handle an increase in horsepower.

The 3.6 litre boxer engine is largely the same as the one used in the Mobil 1 Supercup and Carrera Cup championships- though power was bumped 20 percent for a total of 440, which peak at a furious 8,000 RPM. Porsche says that optimized breathing and software upgrades have enabled the power boost.

Want one? You'll need a racing team and $250,000 Euro plus tax to get started.
