Lewis Hamilton went quickest around the circuit of Jerez, Spain in Day 2 of the final Formula 1 test session of the 2007 season. It was Hamilton's first day of testing, and his first outing in the McLaren with no driver aids.
David Coulthard caused a surprise by setting the second fastest time in his Red Bull. His teammate Mark Webber was down in 15th place.
Austrian Christian Klien was impressive at the wheel of the Force India car, setting the 7th fastest time (on slicks) and being 3/10ths of a second faster than the other Force India driver today, veteran Giancarlo Fisichella (on grooved tires).
Most teams worked on the 2008 mandatory ECU and on evaluating the Bridgestone slick tires that could make a (welcome) return to Formula 1 in 2009.
