Former Formula 1 driver and current Volkswagen's competition representative Hans-Joachim Stuck has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his head following an accident during the Scirocco Cup last month.
Stuck, who is involved in the negotiations of a possible arrival of the VW Group in Formula 1, was rushed to hospital last Saturday after complaining of severe headaches during free practice for the Scirocco Cup at the Nurburgring.
The likeable German, who contested 74 Grands Prix in the 70s, was diagnosed with a blood clot in his head that had formed as a consequence of an accident in early July.
The clot had to be surgically removed immediately.
The 59-year-old German was discharged from the intensive care unit on Monday and was said to be in good shape, although he was to stay in hospital for a few more days.
