Lamborghini and Pirelli have been partners since 1963, the year the House of the Raging Bull was established. Earlier this month, they announced production of an exclusive new series, the Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli Edition, created to celebrate this long and ongoing history of collaboration.
When it goes on sale in the summer of 2015, both in coupe and convertible variants, the unique Lamborghini will offer a choice of six glossy body colours including Giallo Spica, Rosso Mars, Bianco Isis, Nero Aldebaran, Grigio Liqueo, and Grigio Ater. This will contrast with the matte black finish for the roof, pillars, mirror caps, hood, and air intakes. Alternatively, customers can select glossy black for the upper parts of the car and the air intakes, in contrast with four matte finishes for the rest of the exterior (Bianco Canopus, Nero Nemesis, Grigio Adamas, and Grigio Titans).
Adding further distinction is a thin red stripe that runs along the roof and hood, the rearview mirrors, and the outer profiles of the air intakes to evoke the unmistakable Pirelli branding.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli Edition uses the same 700-horsepower, 6.5L V12 engine as the regular model, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 350 km/h.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but don't expect anything less than a king's ransom.
