When it arrives early in 2002, the SiR will have the best basic suspension of any model in the Honda Canada lineup, mostly because it will use firmer dampers and springs. "Substantial front and rear stabilizer bars give the SiR added tautness and precision in cornering," Wilcox says, and "large diameter disc brakes up front and new rear disc brakes complement larger wheels and tires all around to maximize the vehicle's performance nature."
In addition, the SiR's braking system will have Electronic Brake Distribution and anti-lock capability.
Wilcom says the 3-door styling will come only in the SiR package and describes it as having a "high-curvature rear end and functional tailgate that allow for maximum utilization of space and easy loading and unloading." As well providing aerodynamic enhancements, he says, the mesh-type front grille and rear roof spoiler further accent the performance character of the SiR.
"SiR's interior styling boasts excellent visibility, smart control placement and highly supportive sport seats with red stitching," says Wilcox. Key interior features would include those front seats, white gauges, and a 60/40 split rear seat that folds straight down onto the seat base to create a flat load floor.
Pricing for the SiR will be established by Honda Canada closer to the production date.
