Japanese manufacturer Honda has just announced that their latest creation will be available in Canada. It's not an overachieving new car though- it's a jet! Earlier today, the company announced the sales expansion of its advanced HondaJet throughout North America- with a direct sales, service and support plan for the Canadian market.

HondaJet is Honda's first-ever commercial aircraft. Delivering dynamic performance and superior efficiency for class-topping range is part of its promise, reflecting Honda's reputation for road going vehicles. The new jet will be tested and built at a facility in Greensboro, North Carolina, before being offered for sale into the Very Light Jet (VLJ) market.

Why jets? According to Honda officials, it was all about the opportunities for research and development, as well as expansion. "This is an important step to have our business plan in place in Canada," said Michimasa Fujino, president and CEO of Honda Aircraft. "We are confident that we have established the basis for exceptional support that will provide our customers with unparalleled quality and convenience."

Honda expects a first test-flight early next year, followed by certification from the Federal Aviation Administration the following year. HondaJet customers can expect to take delivery of their new machines shortly afterwards.
