No matter what part of the world you live in, if you drive a car, one day you’ll have to deal with potholes. A driver’s worst enemy, potholes often damage important components, cause flat tires and are generally a great big nuisance. Ford showed us what the engineers in its Belgium and Michigan test centres are doing to improve the quality of the cars, SUVs and pickups it distributes worldwide.
By surveying drivers from several countries and all continents, they’ve been able to recreate the various types of surfaces around the globe. They use the data to design every test imaginable. They’ve no doubt “upgraded” the worst surface you’ve ever encountered in the name of creating the ultimate durability test for the tires, suspension systems and other components that make up Ford vehicles.
Slamming full speed ahead into anything capable of destroying your car, Ford’s employees use sophisticated equipment to ensure each part can endure more than what the client will ask of it.
