European suspension will be standard on all Elantra GT's, giving the car sporty handling and increased performance. The car will come standard with 4-wheel disc brakes and the premium package will include ABS with traction control.
The Elantra GT will continue to offer the same array of safety features the sedan does. These include second-generation driver and passenger front air bags, passenger presence detection system, an advanced safety belt system containing pretensions with force limiters, child safety door locks, child seat anchor system with automatic locking retractors, energy absorbing "crumple zones" in the front and rear to protect the passenger compartment.
Just like all other Hyundai's, the standard features on the Elantra GT will impress everyone. These features include alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, rear window wiper and washer, AM/FM/CD Player, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, locks and power heated mirrors, P195/60R-15 Michelin tires, alloy wheels, keyless entry with alarm system, front fog lamps and a trip computer. If a consumer chooses to opt for
the premium package, the upgraded features consist of a power sunroof, ABS with traction control and leather seating.
The Elantra GT, like all 2002 Hyundai models, is backed a 3-year/60,000 km "Bumper to Bumper" Limited Warranty, 5-year/100,000 km Powertrain Warranty, and 5-year/Unlimited Mileage Anti-Perforation Warranty. Elantra GT owners also receive a 3-year/60,000 km 24-Hour Roadside Assistance Program which includes fuel deliver service, flat tire changing, lock-out service, towing service and more.
