Several Canadian and Quebec auto sport series held races during the past weekend during the ICAR Grand Prix in Mirabel, Quebec.

SATURDAY

The Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship race was shortened to 17 laps following a race incident. When the dust finally settled, Sasha Anis was victorious in the Super class ahead of his teammate Bob Attrell, both from Brampton, Ontario. Montrealer Étienne Borgeat was the best Quebec finisher in this class securing a fifth place. In the Touring class, Michel Sallenbach of Roxton Pond, Quebec edged Alain Lauzière of Vaudreuil, Quebec by less than three-tenths of a second.

The Canadian Super Production Challenge Series produced one of the most exciting races of the day when Nick Wittmer and his younger brother Karl, edged the second Honda Civic of Team Lombardi Racing, which was driven by Benjamin Distaulo and Simon Dion-Viens, by less than 15 one-hundredths of a second. Jean-Louis Arpin finished third.

In the Porsche IMSA GT3 Cup Canada Challenge, Perry Bortolotti walked away with the win after leading all 27 laps of the race and crossing the finish line 31 seconds ahead of Martin Harvey. Shaun McKaigue took third place.

In the first race of day, Michel Legrand won the GT1 class in the Québec-based GT Performance Racing Series, while Montréal's Charles Hammer finished first in the GT class. In the Cup Lites Series, Georges Morissette was the winner, followed by P-A Manseau and Stéphane Landry.

SUNDAY

The noon hour Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship was won by Bob Attrell of Brampton, Ontario who finished ahead Nick Wittmer of Montréal. Attrell led all the way. He was never really challenged by Wittmer even though the field was regrouped following a full course yellow near the end of the race. Montrealer Philip Fayer finished third in the Super Class. In the Touring class, it was again a one-two finish for Octane Motorsport drivers Michel Sallenbach of Roxton Pond, Quebec and Alain Lauzière of Vaudreuil, Quebec. Tom Kwok of Markham, Ontario finished third in class.

In the Porsche IMSA GT3 Cup Canada Challenge, Quebec driver Martin Harvey of Berthierville, QC scored his first win of the season, putting an end to Perry Bortolotti three-win streak. Shaun McKaigue finished second, only four tenths of a second behind. Bruce Gregory took third place.

In the second race of morning, Michel Legrand won again the GT1 class in the Québec-based GT Performance Racing Series, finishing ahead of Jean-Luc Bergeron and Charles Hammer. In the Cup Lite Series, Georges Morissette won again ahead of P-A Manseau. André Gagné took third place.
