For those not already familiar with the Magnum (see 2003 Dodge Magnum SRT-8 Sports Tourer Concept in archives), the full-size rear-drive sport wagon adapts some pretty sophisticated hardware from its sibling DaimlerChrysler division Mercedes-Benz, such as multi-link suspension components and a 5-speed automatic sequential shifting transmission, while its HEMI V8 reportedly is good for 6.4 second 0 to 100 km/h sprints.

Like the 300 Series sedan, the Magnum will offer optional all-wheel drive, plus Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to keep all 340 horsepower at bay. A version of the brand's current 3.5-L V6 is expected to power the base Magnum.
DCX Canada states that it initially only planned on offering the Magnum to fleet customers, but because of such an overwhelmingly positive reaction the company has decided to offer it to the general public.

"We are excited about offering the all-new design of the Dodge Magnum to Canadian customers next year," said Bob Clark, Vice-President of Sales and Service, DaimlerChrysler Canada. "It is part of an onslaught of nine new products coming to our Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealerships during 2004 alone."
As part of a Canada-wide road show that brought company executives and the latest models, including the Magnum, to Montreal, Toronto and Calgary, and dealers traveling in from various parts of the country to see them, the response to the car was once again positive, according to a news release. Comments such as "Unbelievable vehicle for an unbelievable price, and it has a HEMI" were quoted.
