Three teams took part in the test session held at Texas Motor Speedway designed to define the aerodynamic package for the new IZOD IndyCar Series Dallara DW12 on high-speed ovals.

Teams Penske, KV Racing and Team Barracuda BHA, formerly known as Bryan Herta Motorsport participated in the test session held one the 1.5 mile fast oval.

For veteran Alex Tagliani, who was having his first proper test in the DW12 on an oval, felt that the team had made good progress not only with the car handling but also with the Lotus-Judd turbocharged engine.

"Overall, I think it was a good day," the Canadian said.

"We still have some work to do and we didn't have as much speed as we would have liked, but every time I came into the pits with a change, the guys were able to make it happen."

“Tag” is happy to have found a new home with Bryan Herta.

“If we have a good package this year we’ll get the results. It’s not easy to come out of the box to go out and beat Penske, but I think there’s more opportunity this year where we would be able to do this than in the past. It will give us sweeter rewards if it happens,” he told Indycar.com.

“I feel happy and am surrounded by really good and knowledgeable people. I have faith in (Herta) and Steve (Newey, co-owner). Maybe with this organization I have the chance to build and be there when it’s ready to win,” Tagliani explained.
