The goal has been set at to 220 mph in testing on Wednesday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the faster will be the better.

Since most of the teams will do testing runs with their DW12 in race configuration, if they can reach 220 mph it probably mean that the 225 mph bracket is attainable while the car being in qualifying trim.

When the new Dallara chassis was tested last year on the Indianapolis oval, it had struggled with weight distribution issues making it difficult for drivers to push the car in corners, thus unable to reach speeds up to IndyCar standards.

During the off-season, Dallara and engine manufacturers went back to the drawing table and have figures some adjustments to allow the car to handle better in corners.
