A scheduled press conference to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Tuesday will announce that Dan Wheldon will be the lone entrant in the Go daddy Challenge worth $5 million to be held in Las Vegas.

But it seems that the formulae will be altered so that if Wheldon wins the season finale, he'll pocket $2.5 and the fan drawing his name will also win $2.5 million.

It will also be revealed that the two-time Indy 500 winner will be driving a car from the Sam Schmidt stable and that he will have to start last in what's expected to be a 30-car field.

When the program was launched, the IZOD IndyCar Series wanted five drivers outside the Indy car ranks to compete for $5 million if they could beat the regulars of the IZOD series.

Among the drivers who had showed some interest, Kasey Kahne wanted to ride if he could drive for Roger Penske while Alex Zanardi wanted to be part of the Ganassi squad.

As for Travis Pastrana, unfortunately the X Games star broke his ankle a few weeks ago.

We have learned that several regular drivers were upset at the news, wondering why they couldn't be at least running for a $1 million bonus.
