Tony Kanaan is already getting along pretty nicely with his new teammate, Swiss female driver Simona de Silvestro.

October 30th, de Silvestro signed with KV Racing, looking to turn the page on a disastrous season at the Lotus-powered HVM Racing team. For the first time in her IndyCar career, she was going to have a teammate.

This teammate happens to be Brazilian Tony Kanaan who, in 2013, will enter his third season with the American outfit founded in 2003. Kanaan is a 14-time race winner in the championship.

Both drivers had a chance to start working together over two test days, the first at the Barber Motorsport Park and the other one down in Texas.

"It's been going pretty well," de Silvestro said on IndyCar.com. "Working with TK has been a lot of fun.

"I've never had a teammate in IndyCars (so) that's all new to me. Having someone right there in the seat at the same time, giving feedback and listening to what he thinks -- especially on the ovals -- is great.

"The Barber and Texas tests I was learning a lot of things, like the guys' names, and now we're starting to click."

Kanaan too had kind words for his teammate: "We're still getting to know each other, but she's a very easy-going person so I don't see any problems," he said.

"Everything is new to her. She's fast and finally now she's got to a team where she has the potential to show her talent."
