A press conference has been called for Monday and we have learned that Tony Kanaan will officially be named as the new driver of the de Ferran/Dragon team for the upcoming IndyCar series’ season.
About a month ago, Kanaan was invited by Gil de Ferran to do a test for the team. But at that point there were no agreement reached and the 2004 IndyCar champion was looking at all the opportunities he had.
We know that Kanaan has spent time in Brazil in the recent weeks looking for sponsorship and it looks as though financial support has been found and that de Ferran and Kanaan will work along in 2011.
It appears Kanaan would be the lone driver for de Ferran/Luczo in 2011 unless Raphael Matos can find sponsorship.
