IZOD, an important clothing lines manufacturer, has budgeted millions of dollars in advertisement and media value with the IndyCar series as its main backdrop but, 25 days before the season begins, their main star, Ryan Hunter-Reay, is still out of a job.
In what could be one of the largest advertising and promotional campaigns in the Indy Racing League's 14-year history, the face of the IRL for IZOD, Ryan Hunter-Reay was left to dry when Rahal Letterman Racing announced that they could not be part of the 2009 season line-up.
As it stands today, it would appear that RHR could be placed in the second seat with Keith Wiggins' HVM squad or possibly Tony George's Vision Racing or KV Racing. An announcement could me make in the coming days.
