In the closest ever finish in the IndyCar history, Penske's Helio Castroneves won the Peak Indy 300 today at Chicagoland, narrowly beating Scott Dixon by a mere 0.0010 seconds.
Scott Dixon, who only had to finish eight or better takes his second IRL championship of his career.
Ryan Briscoe, who had started from pole completed the podium in a very close third in front of Tony Kanaan for Andretti Green and KV Racing's Will Power, who completed the Top 5.
Castroneves established a new record by starting on the 28th position he earned after he was penalized after the qualifying session for having driven below the white line, and winning the event.
By winning the title, Dixon received a purse of more than 1 million$, which is the highest prize money after the Indy 500.
