Coming into the season finale, IndyCar series leader Scott Dixon has a 30-points cushion over Helio Castroneves.
This Sunday's PEAK Antifreeze & Motor Oil Indy 300 will then decide who will be the next IndyCar champion. Both drivers have never won at Chicagoland.
But of the two, the Ganassi driver has been the most successful on 1.5-mile oval tracks this year, having won three events and finished 3rd twice.
It's the third consecutive year that the IndyCar Series champion will be crowned at Chicagoland. Last year, Dixon lost the championship battle against Dario Franchitti in the last turn of the last lap; only because he was out of fuel.
To be crowned, Dixon needs only to finish eighth or higher to wrap up his second series title.
