The Texas Motor Speedway, through a press conference to be held Tuesday August 17, will make some major announcement regarding both NASCAR and IndyCar events for 2011.

ABC/ESPN reporter Jamie Little will serve as the master of ceremony for the standing-room only event that will feature an all-star cast of guests from NASCAR and the Indy Racing League.

Joining Speedway Motorsports, Inc. Chairman Bruton Smith and Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage will be two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart, three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves, NASCAR Chairman/CEO Brian France and Indy Racing League CEO Randy Bernard.

TMS officials are expected to announce that the IZOD IndyCar Series will return to TMS on Saturday, June, 4, 2011, which is six days after the running of the Indianapolis 500. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is expected to be a part of that race card.

A possible second IndyCar Series date is also rumored to be in the works but cannot be confirmed at this time.

If a second IndyCar Series date is added to the TMS schedule, it would mark the first time since 2004 that TMS has held two IndyCar Series races in the same year. The track had two dates per year from 1997 to 2004.
