De Ferran Dragon Racing‘s Davey Hamilton will not race in Texas this weekend after the team decided to run just one of its damaged cars
Hamilton, who did not even completed a lap at the Indianapolis 500, has criticised Tomas Scheckter for his wreck so early in the race, the veteran having competed in just four Indy 500s since 2001.
The team's other driver, Raphael Matos, also hit the wall after completing 72 laps. Matos is scheduled to race at Texas.
The 47-year-old Hamilton has not started a race outside of Indianapolis since being seriously injured in a 2001 crash at Texas, having had 21 operations on his feet and legs.
