Jeff Balkus, the new head of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is adamant to say that his company remains committed to make the IndyCar series successful despite the major management changes of recent weeks.
Former Indy COO Joie Chitwood announced yesterday that he was leaving for a new role with the International Speedway Corporation while Tony George, founder of the IRL, has already fuelling rumours that the new IMS direction might become less willing to invest in the championship.
But the new president and CEO of the IMS Corporation said the new management shared George's belief that a strong IndyCar Series was vital for the health of the company's centrepiece Indianapolis 500.
