Former Champ Car series’ champion Paul Tracy has had strong words against his old rival Sébastien Bourdais who’s been ousted from the Toro Rosso Formula 1 team.

In his most recent column posted on Racer.com blog, Paul Tracy, 40, wrote he was not surprised to see the Frenchman; a four-time Champ car series’ champion, excluded from the small F1 team.

“I'm not surprised he's got the boot,” wrote Tracy who has always enjoyed a little bit of controversy in racing.

“The guy was a misery even when he had the best car and was winning everything, so I guess he's been pretty unbearable this last 18 months. He's a great driver, but I bet his attitude didn't exactly encourage the team to solve his problems.”

”I'm in two minds about this. I'm dreaming of the day that I'm able to give Bourdais the gears again but, like I've said in previous blogs, I will be mightily pissed if he walks back into a deal when I've been working my tail off doing promotions, and helping to sell tickets for race organisers, and don't get a ride.”

Almost exactly two years ago, on July 6, 2007 Tracy already predicted Bourdais’ problems to adapt to the complicated world of Formula 1.

Speaking to Crash.net Radio, Tracy said that Bourdais' nature means that he does not handle pressure too well, and that could mean bad news for the Scuderia Toro Rosso squad, a team that had not win a race until last year.

Asked how he felt Bourdais would fit into F1, Tracy claimed that “based on his personality, he'll just be a very unhappy person to be around”.

Meanwhile, Bourdais said in a press release sent to the medias last week “ I have instructed my lawyers to review the situation including the possibility of issuing legal proceedings” against the Toro Rosso team.
