Brazilian driver Mario Moraes, the driver of the KV Racing Technology will miss this weekend's IndyCar race at Mid Ohio following the tragic death of his father.
According to reports in Brazil, the 20-year-old has been in Sao Paulo with his family since Monday when his father, Mario Ermirio de Moraes, was admitted to hospital.
Mr. Moraes, who was suffering from cancer, died on Wednesday aged 50.
Mario Moraes will attend the funeral with his family Thursday and has been cleared by the team to miss this weekend's race.
The young Brazilian currently lies 17th in the standings with 208 points.
