Rahal-Letterman's Ryan Hunter-Reay won his first IRL IndyCar Series race at Watkins Glen today after a collision between battling leaders Ryan Biscoe and Scott Dixon put them out of contention.
Hunter-Reay, who had been most of the race comfortably standing in third, watched Scott Dixon, under a yellow, spin out of control while trying to warm his tyres.
Unfortunately, Briscoe was unable to avoid hitting the Ganassi pilot, dropping both to the tail of the pack.
Some major contenders were out of action as they experienced different problems; Helio Castroneves and Justin Wilson had gear box problems while Dan Wheldon sustained suspension damage on the first lap.
