Tony Kanaan and his IndyCar team Andretti Autosport will have to resort to Plan B as they were told that they are losing the financial backing of long-time partner 7-Eleven.

The giant convenience stores chain has announced that it won’t be back on Kanaan’s No.11 Dallara Honda Indy car next year as primary sponsor with whom they had been associated since 2003.

The Andretti team already stated that they wanted to keep the Brazilian on board next year if they can find enough sponsorship but in the meantime, the veteran driver has been given permission to look elsewhere for a seat.

Since Kanaan switched from ChampCar to IndyCar seven years ago, he has collected 14 race wins and claimed the 2004 series title.

In 2010, he was the highest-placed Andretti driver in which he finished sixth.
