For a third time in a row, Will Power (Penske) will start on the front row after putting in the fastest lap during qualifying for the IZOD IndyCar series Long Beach Grand Prix that will be presented this Sunday.

The Australian had another dominant week-end although some of his colleague had also some strong runs, starting with Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosports) who will start alongside Power.

Justin Wilson (Dreyer& Reinbold) was also quick all day and will start on second row alongside another Penske driver Helio Castroneves.

Other drivers that took part in the Fast-Six Shootout are Ryan Briscoe (Penske) and Tony Kanaan (Andretti) who will start respectively 5th and 6th.

It was the first time that Team Penske had three cars compete in the Firestone Fast Six since it was instituted in 2007 (21 races).

Meanwhile, Scott Dixon will start eighth and teammate Dario Franchitti will start 12th – the first time that a Target Chip Ganassi Racing car has not qualified for the Firestone Fast Six. Dixon, though, extended his series record to 36 consecutive top-10 starts.

Another excellent week-end for Alex Tagliani (FAZZTRacing) who, despite carrying an injury to his left wrist sustained in a practice crash on Friday when he caught his hand in the paddle shift, will start the race in 7th.
