Toyota is reportedly working on an ultra-secret project aimed at resurrecting the Supra in an effort to add some much-needed spice to its product portfolio.

While the automaker officially denies a Supra replacement, sources told CAR Magazine that a project is indeed underway to create a RWD coupe featuring a small turbocharged engine and sell it by 2014.

The model would logically slot between the expensive Lexus LFA and the more affordable Toyota FT-86/Scion FR-S, completing a sports car lineup that would meet the needs of any thrill seeker, regardless of their budget.

Once again, these are merely rumours and only time will tell whether the Supra comes back or not. Remember, we've seen the FT-86 at auto shows since 2009, but the car has yet to make it to the streets.
