The last concept shown would be the easiest to build, if Dodge decides to go ahead with it. The Slingshot is a hot looking sports coupe based on DaimlerChrysler's smart roadster, featuring a 90-hp 3-cylinder good for 5.2 L/100 km (45 mpg). Zero to 100 km/h is said to be around 10 seconds, which isn't exactly supercar territory but fun nonetheless. From a styling standpoint the Slingshot pulls frontal cues from the Dodge Razor concept of two years ago, and some Crossfire in the rear fenders. Other than that it's pretty original, and based on the extremely low price of smart cars in Europe would be within reach of youth buyers if produced. It would take a big stretch of faith for Dodge, which has never entered a car in the subcompact category before, to build something like the Slingshot, however, but the current high cost of fuel and continual need for affordable youth-oriented transportation might make it a good bet.
