DaimlerChrysler officials in Detroit deny that the changes to Liberty have anything to do with the fact that two units rolled over during handling tests by car magazines -- North America's AutoWeek and Germany's AutoBild. In fact, the company denies that there is any exceptional rollover problem at all with the Liberty.
The same changes are likely to be made later this year on the Grand Cherokee, probably as part of some upgrades for the 2003 model coming this fall.
