MISSISSAUGA, ON – Did you hear the one about the beaver, the Kia and the rabbi? Well you will at this year's Canadian Comedy Awards presented by Kia. Just recovering from the giggle aches of last years event, Kia is pleased to come on board again this year as presenting sponsor.

The Canadian Comedy Awards pay tribute to Canadian comedic writers, directors and actors at home and abroad. The awards are presented at a star-studded gala where everyone is encouraged to laugh at and heckle the presenters. This is the second year for the Comedy Awards, who, much like Kia, overcame the skeptics and are moving ahead to even greater success in the future.

"The Canadian Comedy Awards is a perfect fit for Kia Canada. We both started in 1999. Neither of us was given much chance of success. But we both had great faith in our product. We in our well-made cars, and they in the pool of Canadian comedic talent. And we were both right," remarked Mike Parenteau, National Marketing Manager, Kia Canada Inc.

This year's big event will be held on April the 11th , and for those who were too busy munching on poutine and back bacon, the show will air on the Comedy Network at 9 pm on Sunday April 22 and on CTV at midnight Saturday April 28th.
