Former F1 driver Martin Brundle will participate to the Le Mans 24 Hours next year with his son Alex, aboard a Greaves Motorsport’s Zytek-Nissan LMP2.
Fifty-two-year-old Martin Brundle, now a Grand Prix commentator at the BBC, competed in Formula 1 from 1984 to 1996, with 158 Grand Prix starts.
He won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1990 with Jaguar, and was the Sport Prototypes world champion in 1988.
He will team up with his son Alex, 21-year-old, who ran in Formula 2 championship this season, with a 7h place overall.
Alex Brundle already drove the Greaves Motorsport’s car in the LMS pre-season tests at Paul-Ricard HTTT, and the Le Mans 24 Hours preliminary tests in June.
In 2009, Nigel Mansell took part to the Le Mans 24 Hours with his sons Greg and Leo. The car was forced to retire after an accident that happened during the first hour of race.
