A major rumour made the headlines last week when it was discovered that Jaguar was tempted to make a return to Le Mans with a prototype of the LMP1 category. Here’s an image of what the race car could look like.

Our friends at endurance-series released this illustration of that car that should, according to them be wearing the legendary British Racing Green livery!

Jaguar - today part of the Indian Tata group of companies – would apparently be interested in making a return to Le Mans.

The British marque has conquered Le Mans seven times over the years; the latest victory came in 1990 with the XJR12 driven by Price Cobb, John Nielsen and Martin Brundle.

Several car manufacturers, including Jaguar and Porsche, are interested to make a comeback at Le Mans, especially after the FIA has declared the creation of a World Endurance Championship.

But note that Jaguar has yet to confirm the news. Well, publically.
