Peugeot secured 1-2-3-4 on the starting grid after the second qualifying session at Le Mans. Sébastien Bourdais’ lap time of Wednesday evening was not beaten on Thursday.
Audi will start from 5th, 6th and 7th positions, but the german team closed the gap with the Peugeot 908 Hdi during the second qualifying day.
Bourdais, Lamy and Pagenaud will start from the pole on Saturday afternoon, ahead of sister cars of Gene-Wurz-Davidson and Montagny-Sarrzin-Lapierre, while the ORECA’s Peugeot 908 will start from 4th position.
The second qualifying session offered another great fight between both HPD ARX-01c. Highcroft Racing’s car first overtook Strakka Racing’s performance, but the « european » HPD was back to the top at the end of the session.
In GT1, the Aston Martin DB9 Young Driver’s performance on Wednesday was enough to secure pole position for Nygard, Enge and Kox.
Risi Competizione’s F430 driven by Melo-Kaffer-Bruni secured pole position but had to fight hard to beat both factory Corvette C6R.
