Who wins?

Well, who do you think? Come on now! A duo of Dutch EV enthusiasts decided to test the LEAF under extreme conditions and keep things current at the same time with a climb up the Tour de France mountainous stage – a 68-mile hike – on a single charge.

Now, the LEAF has a supposed 73-mile range rating, and so you'd think it would be able to pull this off without much thought. But remember, this entire stage is a steep, vertical climb so the car has to work overtime to pull off the journey. Any car would, but this is an EV and so the battery will be drained that much faster.

So, does Nissan's latest and greatest make it? You can bet everyone at the Nishi-ku, Yokohama office were on the edge of their seats the entire time. You'll have to watch the Dutch duo's video to find out for yourselves. And don't worry, there are subtitles, as well as plenty of suspense.
