The Power of a V8 and the Economy of a Four-Cylinder

Even though the Toyota Prius has grown up for 2004, sporting more interior room and hatchback versatility, without a doubt there will be consumers wanting more.

More size, more performance and more luxury will be the calling cards of the upcoming Lexus RX Hybrid, based on the recently updated RX 330 sport utility. Said to have the power of a V8 and the fuel economy of a 4-cylinder, the hybrid gasoline-electric version of the midsize SUV will be available fall of next year.

And what Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicle will be the next model to receive the hybrid treatment? The Japanese brand stated that it could eventually offer hybrid gas-electric powertrains on all of its vehicles, tuned for economy or performance, depending on the target market of the model.

This would put Toyota a step ahead of the majority of its competitors when it comes to fuel economy and emissions ratings, not to mention the praise and patronage of every eco-minded consumer on the planet.
