Power is provided by Lincoln Navigator's 5.4-liter, 24-valve Triton V-8 that generates 300 hp at 5,000 rpm and 365 lb-ft of torque at 3,750 rpm through a wide-ratio six-speed automatic transmission. Lincoln says the six-speed offers up to a seven percent increase in fuel economy on the highway over a typical four-speed automatic.

Lincoln's safety package includes standard AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, which utilizes a gyroscopic roll rate sensor to enhance the vehicle's rollover resistance.

Additional standard safety features include:
  • dual-stage second-generation driver and front-passenger air bags that tailor deployment based on crash severity, safety belt usage and occupant size
  • three-row Safety Canopy side curtain air bags designed to activate in rollovers and side impacts for enhanced head protection, and
  • seat-mounted side air bags for the first row and energy-absorbing knee bolsters and glove box for the front passenger.

Prices for the new Navigator and its extended L version will be announced closer to its arrival this summer.
