Toyota Motorsport of Cologne, Germany will supply engines for team Rebellion Racing’s Lola LMP1 prototypes starting next season.

The Japanese car manufacturer will make a return in motorsport after it left the Formula 1 scene at the end of the 2009 season.

The new Toyota-powered Lola LMP1 prototype, which will compete in the Le Mans Series, had a shakedown in Snetterton, UK in October, before it was taken to Portimao and Barcelona for further development tests.

Rebellion Racing will again run two LMP1 cars next season, with drivers Neel Jani/Nicolas Prost and Jean-Christophe Bouillon/Andrea Bellichi.
