The highly anticipated Tesla Model X crossover is scheduled to go on sale in 3-4 months, The Detroit Bureau reports. The exact release date in Canada and the U.S. has yet to be determined, though.
Apparently, the electric car maker will also launch its Auto Pilot system allowing semi-autonomous driving before the end of 2015.
The production-spec Tesla Model X is expected to retain the unique “falcon wing” doors first seen on a prototype version several years back. CEO Elon Musk said that around 20,000 customers have already pre-ordered a copy of the Model X, and the company intends to end the long wait.
Further details will likely be announced shortly, so stay tuned.
