CEO, Rick Wagoner, to mark the world debut of the all-new Buick Enclave. Members of the media and Buick dealerships were on hand. The event took place at the Pasadena Art Centre, which is a world-renowned design center.

In June 2007, GM will launch the Enclave on the market as a replacement for three Buick models: the Rainier, the Terraza and the Rendez-vous. The Enclave is a midsize luxury crossover vehicle capable of seating eight adults. It will be available in front- and all-wheel drive models.

An all-new 3.6-liter V6 mated to a new 6-speed automatic transmission will power the Enclave.

While this vehicle shares the same drivetrain and architecture as the upcoming Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia, the similarities stop right here. The designers and engineers had been given the mission to create a quiet and convenient luxury vehicle that would more than compete with Japanese and European rivals. The styling and the quality of materials have been carefully studied and developed. The Enclave is a commanding vehicle with sleek and distinctive lines highlighted by a prominent and towering front grill.

"By pushing the wheels near the corners, we wanted the Enclave to have a strong physical presence. And by extending and softening the lines towards the back, we managed to recreate the classy, sleek Buick image," explained chief designer John R. Folden.

The interior stands out thanks to its clever rear seat access system, which should quiet the critics of 7- and 8-passenger vehicles. The removal of the second-row seats is well thought out. In addition, these seats can slide back and forth to increase the legroom for rear occupants. Moreover, all the rear seats as well as the second-row center console can be folded to provide a huge, flat cargo floor.

The Buick Enclave should appeal to families, parents and grandparents. This versatile vehicle will allow you to run your errands, take your kids to their hockey practice or spend long vacations with your whole family. We're anxiously awaiting its official launch and our first road test.
