Lynk & Co, a creation of Chinese automaker Geely, is a new brand launching this Thursday, October 20th. It is expected that the first cars will go on sale in China next year and later in Europe and the U.S.
Canada will likely follow suit.
Geely is seeking to broaden its appeal by targeting the middle market. The company also owns Volvo, which is exclusively aimed at luxury buyers.
Lynk & Co’s debut vehicle will be an SUV based on the Compact Modular Architecture platform jointly developed by Geely and Volvo. A sedan is also under development, sources told Reuters in April.
It could be the most connected car to date.
“With LYNK & CO, we have created something bigger than just a car. We have created a digital platform for new thinking, for sharing and for collaboration, where only the imagination and creativity of all the bright minds out there will set the limits for how we can improve the use of cars and the experience of mobility,” said Chief Design Officer David Green.
