To many folks, the only thing that could be better than driving a BMW M3 is driving a BMW M3 topless. BMW group has recently explained that they'll cater to these enthusiasts with the latest addition to their upcoming BMW M3 lineup: the M3 Cabriolet. It's the third exciting body-configuration for the car, following the coupe and sedan models.
BMW stresses their topless cabriolet configuration poses no trade-off in the body-rigidity required for high performance driving. The roof mechanism is electro hydraulically actuated, putting an open-topped driving experience just moments away from its owner's fingertips.
Of course, with the roof down, they'll be able to take in even more of the sumptuous sound effects generated by the new V8 engine. A four-litre unit, the latest M3 powerplant cranks out 414 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. Redline is over 8000 RPM.
M3 Cabriolet carries the trademark "M" styling elements present on the sedan and coupe. Dual outlet exhaust, flared fenders and an aggressive bumper with large venting are installed for a discrete but powerful visual statement.
