To put it mildly, this is an extremely aggressive MSRP on a minivan with a list of standard features (and a good strong warranty) that any sensible person could live with.
Like every other vehicle in the category, the Dodge Caravan is well designed and well built and will serve a family well, and the Canada Value Package comes with a responsive 3.3-litre V6 attached to a four-speed automatic transmission, with air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD player, 15-inch wheels, seven-passenger seating with easy-out roller seats. The only feature I personally would miss would be remote door locks, but they're not that big a deal.
So you can get an excellent minivan that will serve you just as well as any other minivan in the segment, for maybe $10,000-$15,000 less than what you'd probably pay for one of those "top-pick" models, which have nothing special to recommend them.
It's really amazing, and quite ironic. Those folks who only buy the vehicles on those "top-pick" lists probably think they are making the best consumer decision, when in reality their willingness to pay a lot more for about the same thing is creating real bargains for the genuinely smart shopper.
As I say, those unscientific best-of lists can be amusing when it comes to buying a novel or something minor, but not so funny when it means you'll be wasting lots of money if you follow their advise while shopping for a minivan.
