Repentigny Mazda Outside of Montreal Makes the Sale

Mazda Canada sold their 1,000,000th vehicle in Canada on Monday, September 30, 2002. This evening, Daniel Limoges of Montreal East, the purchaser of a Mazda's one millionth car sold in Canada, was astounded to learn that he was getting his money back and receiving his new Mazda free of charge.

"It is a great pleasure to give back to our customers in such a big way," Luciano Esposto, General Manager, Repentigny Mazda. "Mazdas are extremely popular in Quebec so it seems appropriate that we'd sell the millionth car here." The dealership, just outside of Montreal, threw a surprise party to appropriately commemorate this landmark.

"I am so happy for Mr. Limoges and so thrilled that Canadians love Mazdas," says Mike Benchimol, President of Mazda Canada, who was on hand to congratulate the lucky buyer. "It's important for us to mark such a significant event in this way."

Canada's head office in Scarborough gathers purchase information electronically from every dealership and did not know where the millionth car was sold until a week ago. The dealership contacted Daniel Limoges for a commemorative photo marking the significance of the purchase. He had no indication that Mazda would cancel his contract and provide him the car free of charge.

Mazda Canada Inc. is responsible for the sales and marketing, customer service and parts support of Mazda vehicles in Canada. Headquartered in Scarborough, Ontario, Mazda Canada has approximately 150 dealerships nationwide. For additional information visit Mazda Canada's website at www.mazda.ca.
