As promised, a pair of concepts based on the fully redesigned 2016 Mazda MX-5 roadster made their debut today at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Both feature lightweight construction and a 2.0L SKYACTIV-G engine.
The Mazda MX-5 Spyder is a tribute to vintage roadsters with a bikini top developed by ASC. It also sports a Mercury Silver paint colour, carbon fibre aero kit, grille intake and body tonneau cover, as well as lightweight 17” Yokohama ADVAN Racing RS II wheels. Its interior is adorned in Spinneybeck “PRIMA” natural leather.
Meanwhile, the stripped-down Mazda MX-5 Speedster has no roof and its doors and seats are made of carbon fibre. Custom RAYS Extreme Gram Lights wheels measuring 16” in diameter, a 30mm lowered suspension, and Blue Ether body paint complete the package.
