(Richmond Hill, ON): With the momentum of record-setting sales in 2004, Mazda Canada will debut two new vehicles at the 2005 Montreal International Auto Show on January 13, 2005. Both will go on sale later this Spring.

Derived from the very successful Mazda3 architecture, the 2006 model Mazda5 is designed from the inside out for maximum comfort, convenience and enjoyment and is the only 6-seat, compact-size vehicle in the Canadian market today. The Mazda5 has been developed to combine comfort and versatility with driving enjoyment and responsive handling.

The 2006 Mazda5 will come in two trim grades all powered by a 157-horsepower, 2.3-litre, four-cylinder engine. Manufacturer suggested retail prices will be announced closer to the Mazda5's launch in June.

Also making its Canadian premier at the Montreal International Auto Show is the 2006 model MAZDASPEED6, a high-performance version of the Mazda6 sedan. With its 274-horsepower, 2.3-litre, directinjection, turbo-charged engine and active torque split all-wheel-drive system, this is the highest performing and best handling sedan Mazda has ever built. Mazda will launch its ultimate "zoom-zoom" sports sedan later this Spring.

Also on display in the Mazda stand of this year's auto show will be the award-winning Mazda line-up. The Mazda6 Sport hatchback was recently named the "Best New Family Car" and the Mazda6 SportWagon the "Best New Station Wagon" by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada for the 2005 model year. The Mazda6 sedan was named the "Best New Family Car" for the 2004 model year. The reigning Canadian Car of the Year Award recipient, the Mazda3 will also be on display.

Mazda is widely know for its sports cars and in addition to the award-winning RX-8 and MX-5 Miata the 2005 version of the MAZDASPEED MX-5 will debut at the auto show. This year the MAZDASPEED MX-5 comes in an exclusive Titanium Grey Mica exterior with colour-coordinated accents to the black interior.
