McLaren Electronic Systems, the specialist electronics arm of British Formula 1 racing and automotive company McLaren, has launched McLaren Electronics Inc, a North American subsidiary.
The British entreprise already has a firm foothold in the U.S., providing mechanical components in the three major NASCAR championships, electronics and software for the Indy Racing League and track support systems for the American Le Mans sportscar series.
The new company will be based in Mooresville, North Carolina, in the heart of NASCAR country.
